Albanian President Ilir Meta appealed to the government to take stronger measures to prevent the permeation and diffusion of the coronavirus in the country, because any underestimation of the situation could have dire consequences.

“I think that after the declaration of the state of global emergency by WHO, we need stronger sanitary and epidemiologic measures to prevent the permeation of the virus in our country”, Meta told press reporters today, adding the measures should be even stronger considering the two cases detected in the neighboring Italy with e big Albanian community.

“Albania has experience to deal with such cases, like it did before in the SARS case, but it’s certain any underestimation could have critical consequence and I’d like to encourage taking stronger preventive measures”.
