Albanian art collector Gjergji Thimio said during a communication with Syri.net he feels threatened by the government, repeating what he said yesterday in an interview with Fax News about two attempts on his life during his time in prison. Speaking with Syri.net, Thimo also repeated the accusations made to Albanian Premier Edi Rama, for which he said has been arrested twice in France for icons smuggling.

Thimio appealed not only to the Albanian authorities, but also to the US Embassy and the new US Ambassador Yuri Kim for protection from the government, fearing for his life.

“After the yesterday’s interview for Fax News, where I denounced Premier Edvin Rama, I am going home from work, because there are many police effectives in front of my bar”, Thimio told Syri.

“I’m going home, I don’t know their intentions, but I don’t think it’s benevolent, this is real terror. God save me, I am not safe. Some infamous persons, known for criminal offenses, like murder, raping and abductions, are passing by to make pressure”, a panicked Thimio told Syri.

He said he is in urgent need for protection from the General Prosecutor and the US Embassy.

“I seek help from the US Embassy to protect my life in these moments”, Thimio appealed.
