After days of debates, the parliament of Montenegro has passed last evening the law on the Albanian national flag and symbols. The new law is expected to serve as a regulatory for the rights of ethnic Albanians to use their national flag and symbols and it will oblige the institutions to respect it.

Since 2008, Montenegro has approved the Strategy of Policies of the National Minorities as an essential document that defines the policy of the Montenegrin government in the field of respecting and protecting the rights of the minorities.

Among others, the documents includes the normative regulation and the practical implementation in the sphere of using the spoken and written language, education in all levels, culture and tradition, information, national, individual and collective identity, and the political participation and the representation in the state institutions, economic development policy, etc.
