Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha visited today the residents of Thumanë, one of the areas hit by the devastating earthquake of November 26, with 24 victims. Following his visit, the Democrat leader wrote the state, beyond the propaganda, has failed shamefully. According to Basha, the government prefers failure rather than touching the $150 million dollars that go to the oligarchs’ pockets.

“A month has passed already and the citizens are still in anxiety for their fate. No one has made an evaluation of their houses, whether they are or not inhabitable. Some are forced to take chances with staying in the damaged houses, because they have no other possibilities. Fear and despair accompany them all the time”, Basha wrote on his Facebook page.

“They ask for nothing more than engineers to evaluate the risk their buildings represent so that they could avoid what happened to the collapsed buildings only a few meters from them”.

“Beyond the propaganda, the state has failed shamefully. All this only to avoid touching the $150 million that go to the pockets of ten oligarchs”.

Basha added the lack of reaction from the government has affected the citizens health, especially children’s.
