Former Democratic Party MP Ervin Salianji has made other accusations against the brother of former Interior Minister Fatmir Xhafaj. Salianji was sentenced to one year in prison yesterday by the Court of Tirana over false accusation against Agron Xhafaj, claiming he was involved in drugs traffic while his brother was still minister. Agron Xhafaj has been sentenced to seven years in prison by an Italian court over drugs traffic and there to serve his sentence after repeated accusations from the Democratic Party that minister Xhafaj was protecting his brother.

Speaking with ABC News in the morning today, Salianji said he will continue to reveal evidence that proves Agron Xhafaj’s involvement in the drugs traffic. He said Xhafaj is partner of the persons that were arrested a few months ago in Greece with several tons of cannabis.

“The expert’s exam in UK proved the voice in the wiretaps is Agron Xhafaj’s and excluded categorically that it belongs to another Agron that was put there by the State’s Intelligent Service to confuse the examination”, Salianji said, adding he will take the case to the newly established special anti-corruption prosecution.
