Director of the Environment Department in the Democratic Party (PD) Jamarbër Malltezi said the government is refusing a face-off related to the issue of the incinerators, namely that of Tirana. Malltezi told the morning show in the television Vizion Plus that the government is using all means to avoid speaking about the contracts which he deemed “abusive”.

“For two years we have been challenging the government to a face-off with arguments of a massive theft with the incinerators. For two years the government fails to respond. It introduces itself deliberately as a clown, wearing sneakers and baggy pants only to avoid talking about the theft”, Malltezi said, referring to Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Asked by host Pranvera Borakaj to comment on the reports that estimate the cost of Tirana’s incinerator to grow with €104 million, Malltezi said it is a relatively high figure stolen from the Albanian taxpayers’ money.
