The Albanian parliament gathered today to elect the new General Prosecutor, despite the state of emergency that is in the country after the earthquake of November 26.

The parliament voted Olsian Çela as the new General Prosecutor, with 101 votes in favor, 2 against, and 10 abstentions.

Çela, who will have a 7-year mandate in office, will succeed the temporary General Prosecutor Arta Marku who was also a candidate but received only votes in favor, 23 against and 78 abstentions.
