The Democratic Party (PD) will file a criminal complaint against Albanian Premier Edi Rama for office abuse and violence of the citizens in the Astir area of Tirana.

Democrat Deputy Chairman Edi Paloka said the police violence against the citizens that were protesting against the demolition of their houses and livelihood was aimed to hide the embezzlement of €40 million from Rama and Tirana’s Mayor Erion Veliaj.

Paloka said the Prosecution Office is not investigation over the affair of the new city ring road “because an independent inquiry would take Edi Rama in prison”.

“Edi Rama’s regime violated in the most barbaric way the residents of the new ring road area. Children, women, senior citizens became victims of the violence, only because they were protecting their houses from Edi Rama’s €40-million corruptive project”, Paloka said.
