Secretary General of the Democratic Party Gazmend Bardhi commented the dismissal of Vora’s Mayor Agim Kajmaku accusing Premier Edi Rama of doing everything in his power to defend Kajmaku. Bardhi also accused the Ministry of Justice of abuse of authority by delaying the verification papers as it’s the case with the Mayor of Vau i Dejës, Mark Babani.

“Edi Rama has done everything to save Valdrin Pjetri (Shkodra’s dismissed mayor) and Agim Kajmaku. He used to laugh with our declarations, saying he (Kajmaku) hadn’t even taken a ticket ever. He never distanced himself despite having information like opposition had”, Bardhi told Syri TV’s host Klaudia Karabolli .

“The opposition is able to obtain documents for his incrimination, whereas the Prime Minister, who has the power, has no information. As a matter of fact, he does have information and knew everything Pjetri, Kajmaku and company had done, but used them to gain power”, Bardhi said.

"The Ministry of Justice has delayed the custom papers addressed to Italy and Greece. Sources from this ministry told me they are doing the same thing in Mark Babani’s case. This is not only abuse of authority, it also shows the government’s will to keep and defend these persons”, Bardhi said, adding that the Democratic Party has never made any accusations without having proof.
