The relationship between Albanian Premier Edi Rama and Kosovo’s Premier-designate Albin Kurti has remained tense.

The leader of the Vetëvendosje movement said his rapports with Rama worsened when the Albanian Premier backed Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi in his plans for a land swap with Serbia and borders correction.

Rama’s tense relation with Kurti has been confirmed by the later who published the congratulations received by the region leaders after the win in the elections of October 6.

He has received congratulations by North Macedonian Premier Veriut, Zoran Zaev, former President of Croatia Stipe Mesic, from the Prime Minister of Bosnia Herzegovina, and also from the Speaker of the Parliament of Albania Gramoz Ruçi, but never from the Prime Minister of Albania, as Kosovo’s daily Gazeta Express reports.

However, Kurti said his cold relationship with Rama will not affect the Kosovo-Albania relations once he takes office.
