Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha criticized awarding the Nobel prize to Austrian novelist Peter Handke.
Basha said this is a sad for “our values”, after the prize was given to someone who supported the ethnic cleansing of former Yugoslavian president Slobodan Milosevic.
“20 years ago I served in the UN ICTY team that indicted Milosevic for war crimes and genocide. To see the Nobel prize go to someone who defended and justified the perpetrator of the greatest horrors in Europe after the Holocaust is shocking and appalling. Sad day for our values”, Basha wrote today.
