Sources close to Albanian President Ilir Meta told Syri.net the President will make public tomorrow his position concerning the opinion of the Venice Commission. A delegation of the Commission visited Albania last month to gather evidence whether the President infringed the Constitution with the Decree of June 10 which postponed the local elections originally planned for June 30, and if there are grounds for the President’s dismissal by the parliament. Despite the presidential degree and the opposition’s boycott, Albanian Premier Edi Rama decided to go ahead with the elections which were won by the ruling Socialist Party.

The majority accuses President Meta of infringement of the Constitution, whereas the preliminary opinion of the Venice Commission says the President cannot be fired because He did not commit any violation.
