Albanian President Ilir Meta expressed his support for Kosovo Premier Ramush Haradinaj’s efforts against the plans for land swap between Kosovo and Serbia, initiated by the Presidents Hashim Thaçi and Alexandar Vucic, with the blessing of Albanian Premier Edi Rama. Meta suggested Albania should not interfere in the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.

“It would be unacceptable for any Albanian in the world if the President of Albania puts in discussion the borders of Kosovo”, President Meta told host Çim Peka in an interview with Syri TV.

“The Albanian President would be the last one to accept such a thing. Kosovo leaders will be held accountable before Kosovo people”.

Regarding the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia for the normalization of their relationship, Meta said Albania must stay apart.

“Albania has no business with (Kosovo’s) dialogue with Serbia. We support them, their dialogue, we suggest they coordinate with the United States, UK, Germany and take the right decision”.
