The Albanian Prosecution Office for Serious Crimes has declared its incompetence in relation to the investigative dossier number 184, sending it to Dibra’s district prosecution office. The investigative dossier 184 investigates the electoral crimes that involved high officials from the ruling Socialist Party.
The reason behind the decision has to do with the fact the investigative dossier doesn’t have to do with a structured criminal organization. Sources said Dibra’s office hasn’t appointed yet a prosecutor to deal with this case.
The chief of Dibra’s prosecution office, Esmeralda Cami, has relations to one of the persons under investigation and for that reason she has refused to take over the case.
