The Democratic Party of Albania (PD) has published today the evidence of arrest, conviction and expulsion from Italy of Valdrin Pjetrin, the newly elected mayor of Shkodra.

Secretary General of PD, Gazmend Bardhi, showed documents from the Florence police department proving the arrest of Pjetri on January 23, 2003, in Florence, along with his accomplice Altin Doda. The arrest was made on the ground of drugs traffic.

According to Bardhi, Valdrin Pjetri pleaded guilty and was sentenced with 18 months of imprisonment on parole.

Valdrin Pjetri was expulsed from Italy and was barred from reentering the country for seven years.
