Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha said today Albanian Premier Edi Rama is a threat and danger to the lives of Albanian families, referring to the case of Valdrin Pjetri, the newly elected mayor of Shkdora in the monist elections of June 30. In a Facebook post, Basha wrote Pjetri has been arrested and expelled by the Italian authorities on the ground of drugs traffic. The Democrat chief called for further investigations as Pjetri has broken the law on the decriminalization.
“Valdrin Pjetri must be put urgently before justice because he has broken the Law on the Decriminalization by hiding his past as a drugs trafficker”, Basha wrote. “But, Edi Rama has ordered the corrupted prosecution office to defend him from the Law on the Decriminalization. As long as Rama will be in the Prime Minister’s office there will be no justice and democracy; mobsters, criminals and thieves will rule Albania”.
Basha said Pjetri was a repeated case, reminding Elvis Rroshi, the disgraced former mayor of Kavaja, who had criminal precedents in Italy, as a rapist and drugs trafficker. Rroshi hid his criminal past and got elected mayor of Kavaja but was later fired in compliance with the Law on the Decriminalization.
