The Democratic Party of Albania (PD) has filed a suit against the member of the Central Electoral Commission (KQZ), Socialist Party commissioners and high officials for electoral offences commited before, on and after June 30.

PD requests from General Prosecutor Arta Marku not to obstruct the investigations over the electoral crimes of June 30. Democrat Secretary General Gazment Bardhi has listed seven key points that drop June 30 elections as unlawful which are as following:

I. Noncompliance with the President’s Decree with consequence the violation of citizens’ constitutional right to elect.

II. Registration of the party Bindja Demokratike in violation of the law.

III. Impinging the opposition’s right to participate in the administration of the elections.

IIII. Rigging and manipulation of the data on the participation in the elections of June 30.

V. “Contraband” ballot papers for the voting in the Municipality of Vau i Dejës.

VI. The appointments of the commissioners in infringement of the law by KQZ.

VII. Electoral crimes across the territory: votes buy-out, votes secrecy, pressure on administration, etc.

All these indices have been explained in details for the legal infringements committed before, on and after June 30. They include nine criminal offences and all together are punishable with 31-45 years prison sentences.
