The Albanian opposition has planned another big rally on Monday but citizens and the civic society have not waited next week and have already gathered in front of Premier Edi Rama’s office to protest against the massacre on the country’s rivers.

The protesters requested the interruption of the government’s corruptive affairs to build a number of hydropower plants. They held banners with calls against the plant, with some of them even considering the construction as genocide instead of corruption. Due to the hydropower plants construction, the area residents risk to lose their houses, arable land, drinkable and irrigation water and also the landscape inherited for generations.
