Interceptions, PD says PM Rama broke the law and risks 1-3 years in prison, calls on the Prosecution to start proceedings

The Democratic Party of Albania (PD) has called on the prosecution to start official proceedings against Albanian Premier Edi Rama over law infringement.

Former Democrat MP Enkelejed Alibeaj said Rama has committed a criminal offence that is punishable by law with a prison sentence of 1 to 3 years.

“The interception of Rama’s conversation with Arben Keshi, where he gives the unlawful instructions for the votes is an infringement of the Criminal Code which is punishable with a prison sentence from one to three years. It is the Prime Minister of the country, the highest official, who uses human resources aiming favors for his party in the elections”, Alibeaj told a press conference today, at the wake of the Bild publication of the interceptions.

“Rama is using a director in the Ministry of the Interior for the votes of his party. The citizens Edi Rama and Arben Keshi have totally violated this Article of the Criminal Code”.
