The Democratic Party of Albania (PD) has accused the head of Tirana’s Prosecution Office, Elisabeta Imeraj, that – with direct order of Albanian Premier Edi Rama and in flagrant violation of the law – is making unlawful pressure on the prosecutors of the case to forcefully detain and arrest Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha, ignoring the fact that Basha has confirmed his readiness to go to the Prosecution Office once it obeys the law concerning his summon.
“This criminal pressure through the unlawful orders of the seized prosecutor Elisabeta Imeraj is carried out with direct order from Edi Rama with the intention of distracting from the new interception the German daily Bild has announced to publish today”, PD said in its statement.
“The Democratic Party warns the prosecutor Imeraj and her chief Edi Rama that this criminal scenario will fail and they will be held directly accountable for this unprecedented criminal act of breaking the law and provoking the opposition. The kamikaze Imeraj will not be able to save Edi Rama. Nothing can save Edi Rama, neither the justice seized by him”.
