Albanian President Ilir Meta said he was surprised by Premier Edi Rama’s strong reaction to his decree to call of the local elections scheduled for June 30. Meta told a press conference that Rama had already known the President’s decision for ten day after he had communicated with him.
“We talked ten days ago and he (Rama) knows very well how worried I was for the situation. It was up to him as Prime Minister to request the postponement of the elections”, Meta said.
“I was ready since May 24 to postpone the elections of June 30 and set another date. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. He (Rama) was determined not to postpone the date”.
“This is why Rama was not surprised by my decision. It was I that was surprised by his reaction after my statement”, Meta said today.
E ku ta dinte Rama se e kishte seriozisht Meta? Me llafe do ja kishim ngrene hallven Metes tani, do kish vrare veten e do ishte varrosur. Do kishim bere nje dite zie kombetare dhe do te shpetonim.
