The Socialist majority in the Albanian parliament has prepared a project resolution that opposes President Ilir Meta’s decision to postpone the elections of June 30. The project resolution that will be voted on Thursday in the parliament will appeal to President Meta to reflect on his decision and return the institution of the president within the Constitutional limits recognized to him by the Constitution of the Republic. The majority also calls on the President not to take other steps that constitute flagrant infringements of the Constitution.

Premier Edi Rama ordered his parliamentary group to consider ousting President Meta, but they need 94 votes out of 140 places in the parliament, which they do not have.
