Albanian Premier Edi Rama confronted with the media pundit Agron Gjekmarkaj live on TV while debating about the interceptions that were published by the Germany tabloid Bild.

Gjerkmarkaj said Rama is a troubled Prime Minister, whereas the later responded by calling him a servan of Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha’s revolution.

This is the transcript of the debate between Rama and Gjerkmarkaj:

Agron Gjekmarkaj: You used the term “filthy things”, but the most disgusting thing should be said for the capacity of the characters in the conversations. Starting with (Mayor of Durrës) Vangjush Dakon.

Edi Rama: Why, what did Vangjush Dako say, for example? Will you tell me what he said?

Agron Gjekmarkaj: I will. But I think you must hold a position for these first. You must hold a position on how the organized crime nominates your (candidates for) MPs; how it manages the mayors, makes electoral campaign, punishes the opposition voters and requests lists of them. It offers “coffee” and it’s known what the coffee means to them, (either vote) or get fired. This is the worst thing that must have happened. I understand you are a Prime Minister in trouble.

Edi Rama: Don’t worry about me, I have no troubles.

Agron Gjekmarkaj: When the Prime Minister of my country is in trouble, the whole country is in trouble. We are all in trouble.

Edi Rama: I know you work for the revolution… Go on working for the revolution.

Agron Gjekmarkaj: I work for myself… and my own satisfaction.

Edi Rama: You are a servant of Lulzim Basha’s revolution. I know that.

Agron Gjekmarkaj: You cannot judge. Do not use your Prime Minister’s position to insult pundits and the people. I am not insulting you, I am showing you respect.

Edi Rama: I am not using my position and I’m not insulting you at all, but you cannot say I am in trouble. I have no troubles.

Agron Gjekmarkaj: You are in trouble Mr. Prime Minister, because such a dossier…

Edi Rama: You are in trouble, because you are a servant of a revolution that is destined to fail shamefully.

Agron Gjekmarkaj: There is no Prime Minister in Albania to be in such a trouble like you that forced the opposition to relinquish its mandates and boycott the elections. And there is no one in Albania today that thinks the opposition must participate in the elections with you as Prime Minister.

Edi Rama: Who are you to talk in the name of the majority of people?

Agron Gjekmarkaj: The majority, the surveys say 52%...

Edi Rama: Who made these surveys?

Agron Gjekmarkaj: You said the Mayor of Shijak did not put his candidature, but the chairman of the local branch of the Socialist Party did, the one in the interceptions. You said a phone call does not determine…

Edi Rama: Yes, that’s right…

Agron Gjekmarkaj: It is not the question of a phone call, but it is their hands. In a certain way they manage your travels abroad, where you move, where you go. They are interested in your travels abroad.

Edi Rama: Shame on you for dealing with…

Agron Gjekmarkaj: The shame is yours for plunging the country this low for six years.

Edi Rama: The shame is your for dealing with the conversations of some scum that are in prison and I am no way interested in what the scum in prison talk about.

Agron Gjekmarkaj: These are conversations that threw dirt on Albania. The word shame you may use for Vangjush Dako, I won’t allow you.

Edi Rama: Calm down, calm down! Steady!

Agron Gjekmarkaj: You are no king, you are an elected Prime Minister.

Edi Rama: It is publically know you are a servant.

Agron Gjekmarkaj: If I am a servant, you are a servant of the organized crime. It means the politics is managed by the organized crime. This is Albania’s shame.
