Albania’s General Prosecutor Arta Marku has ordered the prosecutors of the investigative dossiers 339 and 184 to investigate without losing any more time and put before justice anyone that has committed penal offences by revealing investigative secrets.

Marku’s move came after the publication of the intercepted phone calls by the German daily Bild, proving how Socialist Party officials colluded with a mobster to buy votes in the 2017 general elections. She said it is a constitutional and moral obligation to clarify what has happened with the dossiers, adding that it is outrageous that investigation elements have become public.

“The General Prosecutors appeals to the competent authorities to investigate quickly the revelation of acts that constitute an investigative secret and put before justice anyone, be them prosecutors or judicial police officers, that possessed the interception CDs and made them public”, Marku said.
