Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha wrote today he has no doubt Albania’s and Western Balkans future is in the European Union and now is the time to stop the corrupt and linked-to-crime politicians to boost the chances for EU integration. Basha wrote on his Facebook page and about his visit in Berlin in dialogue of high level held by the Kondrad Adenauer Foundation.
Basha wrote that in the center of the dialogue was “Germany’s engagement in the European perspective of the Western Balkans”.
“Despite the current crisis in Albania, the problems of the politics links to crime, votes buy-out, corruption, we will do everything to open the way to Albania’s integration in EU, just like we did with visa’s liberalization”, Basha wrote, referring to the decision for visa-free travel in the Schengen Zone for Albanian citizens in 2010, under Democratic Party’s government led by Sali Berisha.
The Democrat leader hailed Germany’s role in the process of Albania’s EU integration and for preserving Kosovo’s territorial integrity.
