Former Albanian Premier Sali Berisha accused his successor Edi Rama of making Albania the black sheep of Europe after the European Commission announced it would assess the request of the Dutch parliament to suspend visa-free travel for Albanian citizens.

“The European Commission announced it will assess the Duch request for the suspension of the visa-free travel and will send it the member countries and the European Parliament”, Berisha wrote on his Facebook page, highlighting also the fact that this was an unprecedented act, making Albania the first country ever that could be denied visa-free travel only nine years after was granted it.

“The Commission’s spokesperson said Albania is the first country ever for which the return of visas is requested. Let’s hope it will not happen, but one thing is certain: Edvin “the Crime” Rama with his narco-state, has turned Albania into a black sheep”.

Albania was granted the visa-free travel in the Schengen Zone in 2010 in Sali Berisha’s tenure as Prime Minister of the country.
