High Representative of the European Union Federica Mogherini and the enlargement commissioner Johannes Hahn urged EU to open membership negotiations with Albania and North Macedonia.

In a joint press conference they suggested a quick decision from the member countries.

Commenting their press conference, the vice chairman of the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI), Petrit Vasili thanked Mogherini and Hahn for the recommendation that never helped opening the negotiations.

“In the melancholic conference of an inglorious goodbye, Mogherini and Hahn spoke about the next recommendation and for the Judiciary Reform in Albania and its big success”, Vasili wrote on his Facebook page.

“It’s the place to “thank” them for this evaluation, because the success of this reform was really unprecedented, because:

- Albania does not have a Constitutional Court

- It does not have a Supreme Court either

- It has no Inspector General of justice

- It has a double-standard vetting process

- It has members of the vetting commissions that are without integrity and compromised

- More than 50% of the members of the High Council of Justice and High Prosecutorial Council with very low standards.

- Over 63% of Albanians do not trust in the reform.

These achievements of the aborted Judiciary Reform “deserve” Mogherini’s and Hahn’s praises”, Vasili wrote.
