The Albanian Democrat Union (BDSH) has appealed in the Electoral College against the decision of the Central Electoral Commission (KQZ) to register the new party Bindja Demokratike, chaired by former Democrat Party MP Astrit Patozi, in the municipal and mayoral elections of June 30. The appeal requests the abrogation of the KQZ decision.

According to BDSH, the KQZ ruling is unlawful because the registration of Bindja was made when an effective court ruling did not exist yet.

“Allowing Bindja entering the race in violation of the law on parties and the Electoral Code, KQZ violates the equal opportunities in the elections and the lawfulness of the elections”, BDSH said in its appeal.
