Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha commented today the proposal of the smaller opposition parties for a negotiation table with the President of the Republic to find a solution to the crisis, saying Premier Rama’s resignation is a nonnegotiable condition for the elections.

“There is no discrepancy between Democratic Party’s position and our coalition allies”, Basha told media reporters. “The Democratic Party finished last week a detailed document about the tasks of a transitional government concerning the free and fair elections and it will be introduced to the public in the coming days. We have discussed it with our allies. A number of the points they announced today are included in our program too, so the coalition is acting in coordination and full understanding. The other issues are of lesser importance because the main point is this: The opposition coalition, which is the majority today, will register to take part in the elections only when we’ll have real free and fair elections, not another criminal farce. Edi Rama’s removal from the government will remain an nonnegotiable condition”.
