Former Democrat MP Jorida Tabaku said the Albanian opposition is stronger than ever and ready to take the country towards free and fair elections.

Ms. Tabaku told television News 24 that the coalition agreement of the opposition parties shows the will to prevent the façade mayoral and municipal elections on June 30.

She is certain there will be no elections without the opposition.

“If the opposition does not take part, the elections will not take place”, Tabaku said, adding that Premier Edi Rama is “a burned figure now” and “his political cycle is over”.

Tabaku commented the foundation of the newest opposition party, Bindja Demokratike (The Democratic Conviction), for which she said it should not serve as a fake opposition.

“Any political force that works to remove Rama from power is welcome. I wish (chairman Astrit) Patozi to prove himself in a political race. The evil is only one and it is governing us. But, who gives oxygen to Rama is a fake opposition”.
