The chairman of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party (PS) Taulant Balla has threatened the opposition concerning the municipal and mayoral elections of June 30. Balla has repeated the threats made by Interior Minister Sandër Lleshaj, who promised the police would use full force not to allow protests of the citizens during the façade elections.

Balla said today in Përrenjas – where he introduced MP Nuri Belba as the Socialist candidate for the municipality – that the elections of June 30 will take place as planned and no one will dare to protest, otherwise they’ll go to prison.

“The elections will take place on June 30. Monika (Kryemadhi, LSI chairwoman), Lulzim (Basha, Democratic Party chairman) and Sali (Berisha former Prime Minister) should forget preventing people from voting. They cannot do it”, Balla said.

“It would be a criminal offense, punishable by law with seven years of prison, whoever it is that obstructs the voters to vote”.

“Anyone that will dare to violate even the door of polling stations or even touch the ballot boxes will be punished severely”, Balla threatened.
