Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha remembered today the protest rally of April 2, 1991 in Shkodër, when four citizens were assassinated by the police of the dying communist regime. Basha said “the great protest of Shkodrans and all Albanians will have only one conclusion, the one that the protest of April 2 and the sacrifice of Shkodra citizens had, the collapse of the dictatorship, the triumph of freedom and democracy”.

"Never before has the democracy been as threatened as it is today, as is the freedom of vote and the possibility to overthrow the government through voting”, Basha said, adding the current Socialist government is a direct heir of the crime of April 1991.
