Former General Director of the State Police Ahmet Prençi blamed former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri for destroying the police during his tenure.
According to Preniç, Tahiri destroyed the whole structure and the law on state police that separates it from politics.
“The Law on State Police was voted in 2008 and it made possible for the structure to separate from politics”, Prençi said in an interview with Syri.net.
“But with Saimir Tahiri’s arrival as minister, the structure was destroyed. At that time, the police had less staff, but better performance”.
The former director said Tahiri’s successors Xhafaj and Lleshaj are only steps that continued after Tahiri’s dismissal.
