Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha commented today the latest report of the US Department of State in a meeting with media reporters and journalists.

Basha said it is a destroying report about the criminality situation, drugs traffic, corruption and the capture of state in Albania.

“Of course, the Prime Minister would say they are Kadris (a derogatory term Albanian Premier Rama uses for media reporters and journalists), because we do not hope he would give a genuine response as he never did in other cases of investigations or problems raised by the media”, Basha said.

The Democrat chairmen recalled he was Albania’s Foreign Minister this day ten years ago when Albania became a NATO member, while today the DOS report says Albania has transformed into a base of criminality.

“I can’t help being sad, 10 years ago I was the Foreign Minister and we were preparing for the NATO’s summit of April 7, when the membership process was finalized and our country joined the most powerful political and military alliance the world has ever known”, Basha recalled. “It’s a fate’s irony that 10 years later Albania has turned into a country that lacks security, where crime, drugs, money laundering , and corruption thrive at every level of the government and has become a base of insecurity for the other countries”.
