Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha remembered today March 22, 1992, when Albanians won their freedom. The Democratic Party won the general election and ended the rule of the communist party that had been in power ever since the end of the World War II.
In his message, Basha writes Albania is at crossroads again and it’s up to the citizens to open the way towards Europe.
“Today 27 years ago the citizens united wishing and dreaming freedom to build a better life, freedom to move, freedom for education, business, freedom of speech, elect and be elected”, Basha said.
“The 27-year-old journey towards freedom and the democratic Europe, with its achievements and failures, has been painful and full of sacrifices.
Today Albania calls us again, because our journey towards freedom and Europe has reached a crossroad! It’s up to us to make that dream come true by building in Albania the system of the true European values”.
