“Some big, shocking truths have ruined the foundations of the state of law but unfortunately the European emissaries to Tirana, with a troubled sight, did see them, and, with a memory also troubled, forgot them. It is a confusion and darkness that we don’t know where it comes from! Does it come from the same problematic money with which the government has seized all the powers or from other reasons that time soon will reveal?”.

That was the strong, insinuating declaration of the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI), through its vice chairman Petrit Vasili, in response to the position held by the delegation of the European Parliament in Tirana and especially by MEP Knut Fleckenstein concerning the actions of the Albanian opposition.

"The Euro deputies have a troubled sight, but we will help clear it. Albanians’ old friend Knut Fleckenstein has a troubled sight too”, Vasili said.

“The Albanian opposition will never allow that elections standard, which is unacceptable in Europe, become acceptable in Albania. The corruption will be fought in Albania the same as it is being fought in Germany. There cannot be a standard only for Albania as a third world country”.
