Chairman of the Movement for National Development (LZHK) Dashamir Shehi said today the Albanian opposition is on the right path to convince the international partners for its action against Premier Edi Rama. The opposition deputies relinquished their parliamentary mandates, a move that has been criticized by many as harmful for the democracy in Albania.

“We believe the international partners are holding their traditional, classic position of putting stability before democracy in Albania. We understand them. But we think there is a change in their position compared to three months ago. They have started to understand that as long as Mr. Rama is in power there will be less stability, always more drugs and organized crime. So, we are on the right way to convince them”, Shehi told media reporters after a meeting of opposition allies.

He believes Rama and his government have been discredited in an international level.

“It is important to clean the political environment by crime and to have free elections. Then, if they are good enough, let them win again. However, I believe they are discredited in an international level too”.

Shehi said a possible boycott of the municipal elections has not been discussed in the allies meeting, but everything will be discussed after the next big rally of March 16.
