The government’s campaign to denigrate the public university aims its deterioration and eventually open the way to its privatization from certain groups of interest. The strong declaration was made by the university teacher Mark Marku, one of the main leaders of the teacher’s protest.

Marku made his declaration in a meeting of the parliamentary Committee of Media concerning the university teachers’ strike and the students’ protests.

He added the Pact for the University does not solve the crisis and that the government’s decisions suspend totally the autonomy of the universities and the academic freedoms.
