Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha promised today the abrogation of the law on the higher education will be the very first act once his party comes to power. Basha made his promise in a meeting with university and high school students in Shkodër, north Albania.
"The parliamentary group of the Democratic Party the other day decided that the first act of the Democrat government will be repealing the Law on the Higher Education”, Basha said in the meeting.
“We objected the bill in the parliament and consider it as the source of the evil that has occupied the Albanian public universities and which the Albanian students are suffering. The corruptive law does nothing but deepening Edi Rama’s policy to take from the majority and give to the minority”.
The Democrat chairman said the law makes stealing even more painful, because the Bachelor and Master fees are the highest in Europe while the quality of teaching is the lowest.
“We will start right now our work for drafting a European-standards law on higher education”, Basha said.
