The Democratic Party of Albania (PD) has published documents today proving that the prosecutor of the Prosecution for Serious Crimes, Bujar Sheshi, has been a recruit of the infamous Sigurimi, the secret police of the former communist regime, and despite that he has become a member of the High Prosecutorial Council (KLP).

“What PD warned repeatedly against in the past has actually happened in KLP”, Democrat MP Gent Strazimi told the media reporters today. “The vetting process has kept in the judiciary judges and prosecutors in violation of the law, which serve to Edi Rama to keep under control the new justice organs”.

“Official documents show he (Sheshi) has been a collaborator of the Sigurimi and for that reason the procedures for his appointment should have been immediately interrupted. The law is quite clear, he is banned from being part of the new organs of justice”, Strazimi said, asking how it was possible for Sheshi to apply and be quickly appointed without vetting him first.

“Bujar Sheshi should not have been a KLP member, but (Prosecutor General) Arta Marku qualified him in violation of the law, so that the government and she could blackmail and keep him under their control”.
