Albanian President Ilir Meta has opened the yard of his headquarters to the members of the Albanian Diaspora who have not been allowed to protest in front of Premier Edi Rama’s office.
Many Albanian citizens who live abroad and have returned for the winter holidays had planned to rally in Tirana’s main boulevard, but their request has been rejected by the police.
After the police refusal, President Meta said “the Albanians have protested even under dictatorship, despite the terrible cost they paid. If their protest has been denied, all the emigrants are invited to protest in the President’s headquarters”.
