Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha has expressed his support for the decision of the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs to expel the Iranian Ambassador and another diplomat on national security grounds.

Speaking on behalf of the Democratic Party (PD) and the Albanian opposition, Basha said the activity of the Iranian diplomats was a violation of the “diplomat’s status and damaged the national security”.

The opposition chief asked from the state security structures to show dedication and sincere cooperation with the strategic allies as the only guarantee to prevent and neutralize such activities in the territory of the Republic of Albania.

“The fight against terrorism as a form of the international organized crime is compromised when there is no similar fight against the domestic organized crime”, Basha said.
