Albanian Premier Edi Rama tried to minimize the students’ protest in the public letter addressed to them today, saying they were not the majority of students in the country.

“You are 10 thousand students (in protests in Tirana, but the students in the whole Albania are 140 thousand. You speak but do not want to listen, I listen to all and I’d like to talk to you”, Rama wrote.

The rebelling students responded almost immediately, saying Rama’s was not only a deceptive one but also ignoring, because all the students have left their schools and have flooded to the streets.

Through a banner they reminded Edi Rama what the last communist dictator Ramiz Aliza said in a similar situation in December 1990.

“They are just a bunch of unhappy students. What’s the worst that can happen?”, Alia said 28 years ago for the protests of students that within a few days opened the way to the politic pluralism in Albania.

The message of today’s students is clear: Your are speaking and acting like Ramiz Alia did in 1990, but what his end was now is clear…
