Former Albanian President Sali Berisha received former Croatian President Stipe Mesic in his office today, focusing their talk on the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic’s project for a Greater Serbia. Berisha said this is an old project already, started from the time of the late Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic.

“I met one of the most prominent friends of the Albanian Nation, the former President of Croatia, Stipe Mesic, for whom I might say he’s not only a great Croatian but also a great Albanian”, Berisha told media reporters. “We talked the situation in the region, particularly about Vucic’s efforts for the creation of the Greater Serbia and his declarations in northern Kosovo that Serbia will become greater. President Mesic and I had a full understanding on the issues we talked about”.

Mr. Mesic said the Greater Serbia project will never become reality.

“It’s a special pleasure for me anytime I visit Albania and meet President Berisha. He has always defended his country’s interests and has never been against others. Kosovo is independent and has its own institutions. I believe nothing will happen in Serbia to make possible the wishes of Milosevic and Tito. Milosevic’s policy brought the Yugoslavian wars. 100 thousand martyrs gave their lives in the last war and it was all Milosevic’s fault. It would be a disaster should they go on with Milosevic’s policy today”, Mesic said.
