The People’s Advocate has started an investigation over the police behavior for Daniel Dobraj’s case, the 18-old man who is accused of throwing the explosive that damaged the fingers of policewoman Ina Nuka. Dobraj was arrested following the protest and Nuka’s injury, but he told the judge he had been beaten by police in detention and had his fingers broken.
The People’s Advocate institution said they have monitored the situation carefully and started the investigation.
“... After the protest was over, at circa 12:15, he was surrounded by a group of police officers in civil dress in the vicinity of Hotel Plaza who violated him by kicking him in the behind area and in the fingers of his right hand”, the People’s Advocate writes in the report.
“He claims two of the fingers, the pointing finger and the middle one, were broken as a consequence. He managed to escape with the help of some protesters and left aboard a taxicab, staying hidden for 24 hours”.
“He also claims that he was kicked in his right ribs by a police officer in civil dress in the moment they arrested him in the vicinity of the commercial center Globe. Also, he was punched and slapped in the police vehicle en route to and in the yard of the Tirana Police Department, but had no visible signs due to their professionalism”.
