Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha challenged today the international organizations operating in Albania which are keeping their mouths shut in front of the conflict between the government and the Astir area residents, whose houses and livelihood will be pulled down to make space for the construction of the new city ring road.

“I have a question for the international organizations that are financed with taxpayers’ money from Europe and elsewhere in the world, which are allowing the open robbery violating every standard of wellbeing and state of law”, Basha said.

“Where are you? What are you paid for? Why are you here? (Are you here) to display yourselves on catwalks? (Are you here) to eat and drink in expansive restaurants? (Are you here) to tell us how good the Albanian wine is?” the Democrat chief asked the foreign diplomats accredited in Albania.

“Look at the wellbeing, the rule of law, the Judiciary Reform: An arrogant Prime Minister and a thief that violates the Constitution, violates the law and today is beating children and women? Why? (He does that) to steal! The robbery is before your eyes and violates every international standard for the international procurements. Why do you remain silent? Silence makes you accomplices. Silence makes you untrustworthy before the Albanians”.
