Albanian Premier Edi Rama’s candidate for the Ministry of the Interior General Sandër Lleshaj has unveiled today how he personally has violated the Constitution of Albania.

President Ilir Meta rejected Lleshaj’s candidature because the Constitution states a military cannot be nominated as minister.

In a letter addressed to President Meta today, Lleshaj admits that from 2013 he’s been Rama’s political; adviser, which is in conflict with his military status and the Constitution that do not allow him any other function.

The Constitution clearly says no military can assume civil duties without renouncing the military status first.

But General Lleshaj has never renounced his military status from the moment he became Rama’s adviser.
