Democratic Party MP Albana Vokshin has repeated the alarm for the lack of protection of the journalists in the UN International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists.

Vokshi wrote on her Facebook page that in Albania the one who must protect the journalists is the main inspirer of violence against them, referring to Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Ms. Vokshi added no one has been punished so far for violence and threats against journalists and media.

“Two journalists have been threatened with guns this year alone. No one has been punished for the bullets fired at Klodiana Lala’s house. No one arrested for the gun held at Julian Shota’s head”, Vokshi wrote.

“Concerning the investigative journalists: Jetmir Olldashi was given the obligation to appear, whereas Basir Çollaku was sued for defamation because he interviewed the former police vice commissar that was threatened in the presence of the Socialist parliamentary group”.
