Former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri, under investigation by the Prosecution for Serious Crimes with charges for implication in international drugs traffic, said in a press conference today he is not under investigation in Italy, where his cousins have been arrested.

As a matter of fact, Tahiri has committed no criminal offence in Italy to be investigated there; he’s done it in Albania where he continues to be under investigation.  

Tahiri appeared today only to say he is not “Saimir the truck driver with whom the Habilaj brothers (his cousins) made the drugs traffic”.

However, there are many questions that remain unanswered after Tahiri’s press conference:

Is it believable the Habilajs could make international drugs traffic with the help and support of a truck driver named Saimir?

Is it believable that drugs traffickers bought suits and golden bracelets as gifts for a truck driver named Saimir?

Tahiri said he was attacked by former US Ambassador Donald Lu and Albanian oligarchs.

However, all Albanians know whose oligarchs they are and who Donald Lu supported.
