Relatives of former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri have offered proof against him during the interrogations by the Italian authorities. Tahiri’s cousins have been arrested over drugs traffic charges and the former minister is also under investigation in Albania over his implication in the international drug traffic.

In the documents of the investigation in Italy it is written by the Italian prosecutors that Moisi Habilaj and his accomplices talked “namely about Saimir Tahiri, the interior minister”.

The Italian document proves the purchases that the Habilaj brothers made for Tahiri, his mother, and his wife.

“In the recorded conversation between Moisi Habilaj and Sabaudin Çelaj, dated December 16, 2013, he said he had bought bracelets for Saimir’s mother and wife and later they comment about the price of the bracelets and confirm he will give 30 thousands Euros to Saimir”, the document says.
